SHOULD WE BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST OR DAVID C. PACK AND HERBERT W. ARMSTRONG ? ?

0

Who or what is the key to understanding the bible??  Jesus says that the bible is about Him.  Davis C. Pack of the so-called Restored Church of God and all of the other leaders of the various splinter groups who formerly composed the Worldwide Church of God, say the knowing the Identity of the United States and Britain is the key to understanding the bible.  Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.  David C. Pack and the others who agree with him are mere men following Herbert W. Armstrong who is another mere men who adopted the false doctrine of British Israelism which says that the United States and Britain are the lost ten tribes of Israel.  This doctrine became popular in the mid to late 1800′s (before Herbert W. Armstrong started the Worldwide Church of God ! !) and had largely died out by the mid twentieth century.  Armstrong adopted this doctrine for the Worldwide Church of God, the church he started, and made it the central teaching upon which other false teachings were based or related to.

Soooo, hmmmm, should we believe Jesus (God in the flesh, the King of Kings, &c . . .), or should we believe Herbert W. Armstrong, David C. Pack, and the other teachers of this false doctrine?  It’s a no-brainer.  We should believe Jesus.  Sadly though, many in the various splinter groups of the former Worldwide Church of God still adhere to this false doctrine.  Pray for them.  It should be noted that the former Worldwide Church of God has denounced this false doctrine along with all of the other false doctrines that they once adhered to.

Stay tuned for more on this subject.

Open Letter to the RCG and to Those Considering Joining Them

The Gospel

As long as you continue to believe and preach that the gospel of the kingdom (God’s gospel! Ro. 1:1-6, Lk. 2:10) is not about Jesus Christ – the King of kings!! (Isa. 9:6; Re. 11:15; 19:16), you show that you have not understood the prophecies and symbolism of the Old Testament and the prophets (Mat. 11:13; Lk. 24:27, 32, 45; John 5:39), and that you have not listened (as God commanded) to what Jesus Himself plainly said.

Please do not misunderstand, I do not hate you, and I am not one of those people that spend most of their time ranting about HWA and the old WCG on the internet, accusing him of mind control and all sorts of other things.  I do not hate HWA or anybody else.  I do have a genuine concern for the former members of the WCG because I am one of those former members.  I pray that everyone will hear the truth, not this false gospel that you are preaching, or the ones that many other professing Christians are preaching.  HWA made an honest commitment to serve God based on a false gospel.   He had a genuine zeal for God, but “not according to knowledge”, and you appear to be following in his footsteps leading thousands with you.  My prayers are with you, that God would open your eyes.  I wish you would go and find out the difference between children of the flesh and children of the promise and stop stumbling at the stumbling stone.

In case you do not think that I should be concerned, visit this guy’s website and read a little about his story and some of the others therehttp://ironwolf.dangerousgames.com/exwcg/

As you know, adding to or taking away from the word of God is not looked upon at all favorably by God (De. 4:2; Prov. 30:6; Rev. 22:18-19). The same principle evidently applies to the gospel (Gal. 1:6-9).   What we see in the lives of the person on that website and in the lives of many others are the results.  This is the reason for my concern.

Again, I pray that God will touch your heart and lead you to the full knowledge of the truth.  Jesus Christ, the almighty Son of God is not “mentioned right next to the gospel” as you say, He is the great I AM (Lk.18:6, 8), and it is His gospel.  You don’t have trouble believing that He was the God of the O.T., so why do you imagine that He was “just the messenger” of the gospel as you say.  May He bring you to the full knowledge of it, and may you know His love which passes knowledge and be filled with all the fullness of God and stop stumbling at the stumbling stone before it is too late.  That is my prayer.

What is The Gospel ?

The Gospel  –  A misunderstanding of the gospel is one of the root causes of the problems of the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) and its various splinter groups, as well as other groups.  In an upcoming article we will tear down the stronghold that we will call the Gospel According to Herbert W. Armstrong (HWA).

The word gospel means good news.  There has been much confusion and wrong teaching about what the gospel is.  There has been a major effort by the enemy to thwart the preaching of the gospel.  God is not the author of confusion, and the enemy is not on God’s side.  The first four books of the New Testament are commonly called the Gospels, but are they really “the” gospel, or do these books simply tell us the gospel?  Some people claim to be preaching the gospel but they are preaching a different gospel than the gospel that the Old Testament Writers wrote about, and that Jesus, Paul, and the rest of the apostles preached.  The Holy Spirit has said through the Apostle Paul:  “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Gal. 1:8-9 NKJV) The question is therefore, not a trivial question.  We all must have a truthful answer to this question, and should be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us.

The fact that the gospel has been distorted or replaced is nothing new or unique to the Worldwide Church of God or its various splinter groups.  The distortion of the gospel has been going on since the early days of the church as shown in the scriptures above and in other scriptures.  This is probably one of the reasons that there are so many groups that are preaching so many different things.  Many of these groups claim that they are Christian, and many do not, but they all claim to have the truth.  In the upcoming article we will prayerfully try to explain what the gospel is and dispel the misunderstanding that is the direct result of the gospel according to Herbert W. Armstrong and the various splinter groups of the Worldwide Church of God.

Jesus said: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  (John 8:32 NKJV)  If knowing the truth sets us free, this implies that not knowing the truth will keep us from being free.  The truth is one of the parts of the armor of God which has been given to us (Gal. 6:14).  Jesus also said: “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (Joh 17:17 NKJV).  We will be looking to the word of God for the truth.

Major Things That Most of Us Overlooked

0
August 19, 2010

The Gospel

One of the major things that most of us seem to have overlooked in the past is found in the very beginning of the book of Romans.

Romans 1:1-3 reads:       ( Read slowly )

“1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2  (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;” – (from the KJV, emphasis ours.)

We were taught that the “true gospel” was not about Christ, but it was about what he preached – the Kingdom of God.

How many of us overlooked this plain contradiction to what we were taught which was right there for us to read in black and white?  I know I did.

How many of us looked down on those that were called “mainstream Christians” for talking about Christ so much.  It has been a while now, but I almost forgot I did this too. _________________________
